On Tuesday 28 February 2017 at 16.00 – 17.00, Forsøgsstationen has the great pleasure to invite you to a reception in connection with the publication of the anthology ‘Chinese Drama’, edited by Gritt Uldall-Jessen.

Ph. d. and translator of Chinese literature, Peter Damgaard will read the anthology. Fermented Chinese tea and Chinese brandy will be served.

The anthology ‘Chinese Drama’ gives an insight into the diversity of contemporary Chinese drama. It contains the following four very different theatre texts:

‘Ballade nocturne’ – a libretto text by the author and Nobel Prize winner Gao Xingjian.
‘Poetry – Annie’ is a performance piece by debut artist Xiao Jing.
‘Poetry – My Body’ is a performance text by debut artist Yue Yuan.
‘A Dream and a Bowl of Millet Porridge’ is a play by playwright Huang Ying.

The release is based on the festival “Reading Festival of Chinese Drama”, which Jimbut Jun Feng and Gritt Uldall-Jessen organised in collaboration with the Beijing Fringe Festival and the Experimental Station. It took place the 11. and 12 June 2014 at Forsøgsstationen and was part of Det Frie Felts festival, which was again part of the CPH Stage 2014 programme. “Reading Festival for Chinese Drama” was supported by the Danish Arts Council’s Project Support Committee for Performing Arts.
