TOOLBOX – The Experimental Station 25 Nov

TOOLBOX is a choreographic method developed by dancers and choreographer Tim Matiakis in 2022-23, in collaboration with Forsøgsstationen and supported by the Bikuben Foundation.

On November 25, Tim invites you to a TOOLBOX workshop.

TOOLBOX is a choreographic method consisting of five circularly related parts.

The methodology centers around the body in motion as the primary source for creating meaning and understanding about dance and choreography.

TOOLBOX creates a structure around dancing and experiencing dance on your own body, leading to choreographic situations that preserve the experiential sensation of being immersed in movement.

The method starts by diving into distinct physical modalities that, through adaptations and versioning, create choreographic concepts, choreographic situations and choreographic material. All rooted in the body’s sensuality, intelligence, knowledge and experiential capacity.

The day starts with a warm-up and then unfolds the five parts of TOOLBOX, creating a broad overview of the principles of this choreographic method.

The aim is to create a basic understanding for the participants, which they can then explore further.

The workshop is offered free of charge.

Program:

10-11 Warm-up

11-13 Workshop part 1

13-13.45 Lunch (bring your own)

13.45-16 Workshop part 2

16.30-18 Official launch of TOOLBOX with snacks and drinks.
