Abrupt Disorientation of the Self

“I will try to describe the physical stage of being between two places in life or stages in the body or thoughts etc. etc.
Through the spoken and unspoken words or sounds of the voice, through a bodily search based on inner rhythm and response to the sounds of the voice. A practice of one movement being interrupted by another, as well as spoken words being cut, turned inside out and repeated and mirrored in the body.
Something about being in between two places in life and not being sure where the next place is going to be!

A physicality in the center that is the essence of being in between places and never quite ‘landing’.

An indeterminacy and changeability in what is probably the most constant part of our lives, but sometimes also the hardest to come to terms with.

An inner discussion or thought flow that is being expressed partially or not at all.

In the longer term, I would like to incorporate the voice and sounds into a recorded score, possibly a pre-recorded monologue/dialogue. But initially this will be more of an experimental side of the physical score that I hope to develop and refine. Possible work with microphone and other instruments!

A reflection on the mutability that changes us from the outside in and what is always our essence as humans from the moment we are born and therefore make the decisions and directions in life that we do. “
