Are you an educator, puppeteer or work with children aged 2-10 years?

Join us for an inspiring workshop and learn how the hand puppet can become a powerful tool in your work!

Purpose:

The hand puppet is a unique mentalizing educational tool.
The puppet meets the children at eye level in a particularly magical and present way.

In this workshop, we will explore why children have a special security and relationship with the doll. We will visit the playful space where children can safely practice being in the world, and together with the doll they can explore relationships, emotions and personal development.

This workshop is about:

Child communities and identity development:

When we use puppets for and with children, we can test roles, identity and work with inclusion, among other things. The doll can be created based on the intention the educator has for an individual or a community of children. We can create the kind of character in a doll that fits a specific goal in the children’s group.

Aesthetic activities:

The workshop is also about how we can use the puppet to get children to listen, recognize and participate in creative aesthetic activities. When working with difficult emotions, the doll is an obvious partner and good for mirroring behavior and friendships, for example.

Content of the workshop:

– To improvise and dare to stand up
– Mastering the hand puppet as a tool
– Gain tools to create didactic sequences that create and maintain attention in different types of activities
– Showing and telling with dolls
– Puppeteering techniques and characterization

The workshop is led by Sine Jamrath Andersen, a very experienced ventriloquist who has performed all over Denmark and has been on stage most of her life. Sine has almost 30 years of experience in puppets both on stage and in educational work.
