ATLAS OF INLAND LANDSCAPES

The project will make visible the emotional deposits of an effective time. Conditions that often go unspoken, but shape our lives.

The project is based on a somatic dance practice, a strategy for presence that stage and performance artist Tora Balslev has developed over a number of years. The method emerged as a way to deal with daily bodily discomfort resulting from the functional disease IBS with irritated internal organs.

Now Tora wants to share the method with others, and hopefully eventually create a video installation that makes the inner states of time collectively visible.

The experiment is to test the basic steps/elements:
– 5-7 people learn the method in movement workshops
– Each of them is filmed individually, different locations are tested
– Video is edited and spatially installed with projectors and screens
– Viewing and feedback
– Assessment of the effect of technical, methodological and participant-related elements: Screens vs. projector, location? clothing? text? Participant involvement?
