If anything is not

The project “If anything is not” is a research around holes. Holes as entities made of nothing. We can define them as an absence or a trace of what it was, as well as the structure and identity of the entity that supports it. Holes talk about what it is through what is not. Holes can be understood as structural, political, social, personal, public, emotional, digital, or physical, among many others. Since they are made of nothing, they can fit everywhere.
We want to explore the use of holes as a compositional tool on the scene. Our research starts by creating materials with strong links between movement and sound, and then pulling them apart to observe if the absence of the other/s leaves a trace, and whether that trace is perceived as a hole or not. This absence or hole is informing us about what object and relationship the hole was a part of. These potential holes will become materials emerging from the manipulation of our interactions, opening new possibilities for creation.
