VOICEWORK

EXPLORE YOUR VOICE AND ITS POTENTIAL

4-day workshop focusing on breath, body, voice and Shakespeare’s words – inspired by Nadine George’s groundbreaking voice work.

Work is about realizing the potential of your voice. It was originally developed for actors, but in Angelina Kirchhoff’s work with the method, it has become clear that it is also about general human relationships. Finding your voice, taking your place, focusing your energy and being able to direct your energy, voice and focus to express what you want.

Often your voice is much bigger and has more nuance and power than you imagine. It can be experiences from childhood, adolescence or adulthood that cause us to diminish ourselves.

Voice training is about exploring your voice and its potential, and in turn, your own potential. The tools are simple and you can take them with you.

ONE DAY WILL CONSIST OF

Part 1 (morning)

Work on breathing in pairs, guided by Angelina.
Then work with movement in space and focusing your gaze and breathing.
Joint warming up of the voices.
Individual work with the voices.

Part 2 (afternoon)

Work with voice and text.
We work with Shakespeare’s monologues (They will be sent to you and you need to know your chosen monologue by heart by the start of the workshop).

Text work brings together work with voice, focus, breathing and dramatic expression.

I’ve been working with Nadine George voicework for the past 20 years. Working with this method opened my eyes to how much potential we all have, both vocally and artistically.

We all have a much bigger voice and a much greater reach than we think, which we can use both on stage and in our encounters with other people.

The starting point for Nadine’s teaching is that you should feel comfortable in the space where we work together. It’s about opening up your voice to make room for all that it and you contain, so that you can take ownership of it and gradually implement the knowledge you gain about yourself in your work with your art and in your everyday life.
