The registration deadline is approaching for the quality seminar on 24 November:

How do you talk about quality in theatre?

Seminar on experiences and new visions for quality work in theatre

Saturday d. 24 November 10 – 17 at the Experimental Station

The experimental station holds a seminar on the concept of quality in theatre. We do this inspired by the valuable experience of the quality committees in the children’s and youth theatre community in the 80s and 90s and the many formats it gave rise to in critical professional exchange.

But we also do it because we sense a growing need in the theatre community in general, to (re)find and develop a qualified language around criticism and quality. Our artistic environments are under pressure at a time when concepts such as box office statistics, popularity and efficiency are often far more dominant factors in cultural debate than concepts such as quality and substance. This is a trend we want to counter with this seminar.

We have invited all the members of the former BTS Quality Committee to benefit from their unique knowledge (including Catherine Poher, Bodil Alling, Gitte Kath, Simon Vagn Jensen, Peter Seligmann, Michael Ramlöse, Lene Vestergaard, Biba Schwoon and others)

We hope that as many people as possible from the children’s/young people’s theatre community, as well as the wider theatre community, will want to participate and get involved in this important conversation.
