The Dig

Our Forsog will be the first of 3 Research & Development residencies lasting a total of 6 weeks & taking place in CPH, Stockholm & Helsinki. The project expands on Madeleine & Aleksandra’s previous site-specific work ‘City Layers’ (premiered August 2024 @ KIN Festival, Sydhavn Teater).
‘The Dig’ is an investigation into places undergoing rapid transformations in cities, such as building sites. We aim to materialise the ecological processes of gentrification happening there. We will conduct site-responsive artistic research in each city to create site-adaptive movement material & performance scores that capture a uniquely Nordic process of urbanisation and encourage audiences to think critically about its potentially harmful ecological and social effects.
