The Experimental Theater ended the 25/26 season with a deficit of 100,000 kr., as a result of a grant that had not increased in the past 13 years. We responded by organizing this fundraising event and, at the same time, bringing the acute problem and the developments that could soon lead to the closure of the Experimental Station to the attention of the Project Support Committee for the Performing Arts

The good news is that the committee has recognized the seriousness of the situation and awarded the Research Station a one-time grant, which will stem the immediate financial bleeding and reduce the burden on our volunteers this season.We are still awaiting a response regarding whether the Experimental Station’s permanent operating support for the coming years will be raised to a sufficient level so that the site can have a real future and avoid being constantly threatened with closure.
This also means that the fundraising event, instead of raising money to cover a deficit, can now focus on raising funds directly for the art. All proceeds from this event will go toward organizing an Experimental Festival in June ’27, where all projects from the season will be offered space and technical assistance to present their work in the form of screenings, work
s in progress, or live demonstrations. In this way, our fundraising party strives to highlight the artistic work taking place at the Experimental Station and underscore its significance.
