Puppeteer and object art director Kang Jian (CHN) gives an insight into Chinese puppetry, his work with objects and puppets, and also shows excerpts.
There will also be workshop elements, so her visit will include several different aspects: presentations, viewing and workshop elements.
Kang Jian has a residency under the auspices of Nydanskeren Jimbuts Kulturforening, supported by the Danish Arts Foundation
Kang Jian was born in 1985 in China and resides in Beijing.
She trained as a puppeteer/puppet theater director at the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts in Beijing.
After graduation, she has worked on a number of small- and large-scale performances, both as a puppet/object-based performing arts director and as a puppeteer.
