** Annual General Meeting held

The Experimental Station held its Annual General Meeting on Monday 23 September. We had good talks and reviewed the past year in words and figures. Afterwards there was a little refreshment in the bar. Many thanks to the members present and to our competent board members for their commitment and good input. Read the minutes of the General Assembly via this link (https://www.forsoegsstationen.dk/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Endeligt-referat-GF-23.09.19.pdf) .

** Seminar “Endangered Practices” v/ Dansehallerne
————————————————————
The seminar “Endangered Practices” took place on 10 October as part of the Dansehallen seminar/workshop series with the overall theme FUTURITIES. The research station has again had the pleasure of hosting the event and is pleased to contribute to this exchange. The events are part of a Nordic initiative to create fruitful dialogues between researchers and practitioners in choreographic work. Read more about the event and future initiatives here (https://www.dansehallerne.dk/forestilling/artistic-research-lab-endangered-practices/) .

It was a very inspiring day with presentations by Lin Hixson and Matthew Goulish (http://everyhousehasadoor.org) (Chicago, USA), Amanda Piña (http://www.nadaproductions.at) (Mexico, Austria) and Antoine Pickels (https://www.trouble.brussels/en) (Belgium). It’s too far-reaching to try to sum up the day here, but you can read more about the different projects these artists are working on via the links on their respective names.

Great praise to Dansehallerne for their programme composition and bridge building.

** Viewing – The Foxcave Development Project

On Friday 13 September, a screening was held of the experiment “The Foxcave Development Project”, which explored the immersive theatre genre and how to tell a sensory story that enveloped its audience in interaction, sensing and narrative. There was great interest in watching the experimental work and both screenings were well attended.
Sew Flunk Fury Wit / Jesper Pedersen and Svend E Kristensen were the experimental directors in collaboration with the stage designers Gøje Ropstrup, Johan Kølkjær and Dorte Holbek.
The experimental project is supported by the Bikuben Foundation, the Danish Arts Foundation and the Actors’ Union. Read more about the trial here (https://www.forsoegsstationen.dk/forsoeg/the-foxcave/) .

A deeply sensual and all-encompassing experience with room for your own curation of content and degree of intimacy. I’m a fan! (/RR)

Birthday party – update with sneakpeek…
————————————————————

Time for an update on our celebration. Now the band and food are ordered and we’ve been busy planning the details for our 10th anniversary celebration on Saturday 7 December – where you are invited, of course! Read the invitation here (https://www.forsoegsstationen.dk/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/FS10invitation.pdf) .

On the occasion of the anniversary, we wanted to focus on the “Experiment” as a phenomenon. And let 10 seasoned experimentalists reflect on their work and practice in front of a hungry camera. The actual SITE “Into the Unknown” will only be available on December 7th, but we’ve got video artist and documentarian Helle Lyshøj to make a little teaser to share with you already.

Can also be found at www.forsoegsstationen.dk (https://www.forsoegsstationen.dk/2019/10/24/sneakpeek-into-the-unknown/) and facebook (https://www.facebook.com/vaerkstedforscenekunst/videos/2434971640090211/) .

It is always possible to read about ongoing or previous trials via the database (http://www.forsoegsstationen.dk/databasen/) or under trials (http://www.forsoegsstationen.dk/forsoeg/) on the website, where you can also download trial reports and read the trial team’s intention reports – i.e. the trial team’s presentation of the trial itself. Members can apply for time and sparring on trials – see how here (http://forsoegsstationen.us8.list-manage.com/track/click?u=7e4ab507ee0681aacca9cd6c7&id=ee294188b7&e=7b9b825c44) . Views may not always make it into the newsletter, so keep an eye on our facebook page (http://forsoegsstationen.us8.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=7e4ab507ee0681aacca9cd6c7&id=3ce7a29bec&e=7b9b825c44) and the website if you are particularly interested in experiencing the artistic research processes up close…

More details on the trials in the next newsletter!

Use the Network!
————————————————————

**
————————————————————
We would like to encourage members to use this unique network (which many already do – not least via the facebook group “Forsøgsstationen intern” (https://www.facebook.com/groups/944010352410912/) ) – both in the form of invitations to screenings of trials or rehearsals, but of course also when it is time to play a performance.

** Volunteers for the party!
————————————————————

Would you like to be part of the team for the party on 7 December? We need a number of volunteers to man the bar, take a turn in the kitchen or fill up when coffee is needed. If you would like to join, please write to Rikke or Rikke – or drop by the office – shifts are of 2 hours duration and there are a number of free memberships for 20/21 up for grabs…

** Intro coffee meetings
————————————————————

There are also a lot of new members at the Experimental Station this season – Welcome to you! We would like to greet you properly – face to face – and introduce you briefly to the house, the booking and the coffee machine (!). Therefore, we would like to invite you to come to the coffee meeting in the Foyer:
– Wednesday d. 6/11 at 11-12
– Wednesday d. 20/11 at 11-12
If any of you who have been members in other seasons feel a little new to using our house, you are more than welcome to join us one of these two days. Write to Rikke Giselsson at mail@forsoegsstationen.dk and sign up, or make another appointment if the dates do not suit.
