Embodiment of Sensory Exploration
With this experiment, I aim to investigate whether and how sensory observations (visual, auditory, tactile) can be translated into bodily images or movement. I gathered these observations through a site-specific sensory investigation of a selected location on Refshaleøen in Copenhagen. My intention was to connect with the essence of that particular place through presence and sensory engagement.
The experiment includes a total of 39 different records (A4 sheets), created based on 13 different parameters and repeated over 3 days at various times.
Using physical theater as a starting point, I will improvise based on the 39 notes/sensory observations in an effort to generate a body of material and physical experience that can lead me to a deeper understanding of the place in question.

Josefine Skovgaard is a Danish performer, artist, and theater maker with both an academic and artistic background. Her work often stems from in-depth investigations of a place or theme and frequently involves collecting authentic, personal stories, which she integrates into her pieces. She operates at the intersection of theater and performance art, with themes that often take a feminist perspective—including a desire to give voice to women’s untold stories. At the same time, she works site-specifically, seeking to capture the essence of places in order to convey moods, narratives, and interpretations of the human experience in a materialized world.
Tora Balslev / Daily Fiction is a performance artist and dancer who creates somatic contemporary art. In her practice, she uses the body as a tool to explore relationships, particularly between humans and other forms of being. She challenges the notion of separation and creates experiences of connectedness.
