Anti-musical: Sound work and characters – surveys
The group will explore how to create an “anti-musical” that goes against common musical norms of the genre, but still has the dramaturgical form of a musical. We will work with intensive character, sound and voice work, as well as how to find songs/sound themes and a sound universe for fictional characters in ways that challenge the general understanding of musical theater. What does the inner universe of a character sound like and how is it created as an additional layer of one’s narrative is what we will explore, as well as what dramaturgical tools exist in the musical and how they can be deconstructed.
