TRY YOUNG NATURE WILD

Walk in the footsteps of the artists…

What is the best way to experience performing arts? And what knowledge helps to enhance the experience? Nordic Performance Art would like to explore this.
The thesis is that the more you involve the young audience and the more they explore the same themes and try out the same working methods as the professional artists express on stage in Nature Wild, the more interesting, exciting and relevant they find the show.

The trial will take place during CPH Stage from Wednesday, June 6 to Friday, June 8.

ABOUT NATURE WILD

Nature Wild is based on real stories of Danish soldiers returning home and using nature as a healing agent. Some go to the forests and live there for periods of time. For the past year, I have been traveling around Denmark interviewing returning soldiers and their family members. Based on these interviews, we have created the show Nature Wild. (got 6 stars from The 4th Wall)

Just like the soldiers have done, and just like the artists have done, the students will go to a natural area, be it Kalvebod Brygge or Frederiksberg Gardens. Together with the artists, they will listen to nature and collect materials from the forest floor. From this collected material, students create land-art objects and sound works, as well as their very own flash mob.
They then watch the show Nature Wild, where their land art objects are also part of the show.
In this way, the students’ work becomes a kind of thread that leads young people out of nature and into the dark and interpretive world of theater.

This is the case for some pupils. They will be able to participate in a workshop with Nordic Performance Arts artists before the performance. Other students start by experiencing NATURE WILD as a performance – and only then do they participate in workshops.

And then the question – and the study – is whether audiences are more likely to want to use art when they themselves are involved… and when they themselves contribute to the work?
