We invite you to join a city walk that focuses on inequality,<br \/>poverty, marginalization, and the effects of gentrification.<br \/>But despite the major changes and modern development, Vesterbro is not ready to let go of its soul.<br \/>The walking tour is also, to a large extent, a story about the very special spirit and strong sense of community that continue to<br \/>thrive in Vesterbro.<br \/>The tour is led by Poul Hansen, a retired teacher and longtime chairman of the Skjalm<br \/>Hvide housing cooperative\u2014the very location of the Experimental Station, situated right in the heart of Vesterbro\u2019s \u201ccream of the crop.\u201d Poul has lived in Vesterbro<br \/>for half a century, and he shares historical insights and personal, witty<br \/>stories from his many years in the neighborhood. Along the way, we\u2019ll also meet other local residents who\u2019ll talk about<br \/>their daily lives and personal experiences. They will offer a glimpse into how the local sense of community is kept alive<br \/>across generations and life circumstances.<br \/>On our route through the neighborhood, we\u2019ll delve into specific places, each with its own unique story;<br \/>such as Bagg\u00e5rde in transition, which has been transformed from cramped workers\u2019 housing into modern<br \/>communal spaces; Stjerne Radio, which served as a base for the resistance group Holger Danske during World War II<br \/>; and the church, which is making a difference for nature.    <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll serve coffee after the tour. Participation is free<br \/>Location: The Research Station, S\u00f8nder Boulevard 81, 1720 Copenhagen V.<br \/>Time: Saturday, September 19, at 2:00 p.m.<br \/>Ends at the Experimental Station at approximately 4:00 p.m. Approximately 3 km on foot.
