Quality seminar

\nOn Saturday 24 November, the Experimental Station held the seminar “How do we talk about quality in theatre?” It was a day with both a solid historical presentation of the context and conditions of the work of the early quality committees – and an open and broad discussion of where we are going and how we relate to ‘wanting quality’ – how, why, and for whom…<\/p>\n

\nWe have recorded the presentations and plenary discussions on video for internal use, but will soon publish a summary of the day’s themes and the different perspectives and ideas that were aired and discussed.<\/p>\n

\nWe are holding the biannual knowledge sharing among the season’s completed experiments on Friday, December 14, 5-9 p.m. It is mainly intended as a knowledge sharing between the different experimental teams, but others interested in being informed about the latest artistic developments in the experimental halls are very welcome, and can register by writing to Lotte Faarup before December 10 at the email: lotte@forsoegsstationen.dk.<\/p>\n

Christmas holiday<\/p>\n

\nThe administration will be closed from 22 December 2018 and will be back on Monday 7 January 2019.<\/p>\n

The house is open to members as usual throughout Christmas, but those using the house are asked to pay special attention to tidying up, and emptying the bin when it needs it.<\/p>\n

Training second part of season 18\/19<\/p>\n

GAGA people – NEW DAYS AND TIMES
\nGaga has moving day after New Year. There will be morning training on Thursday at 8:30-9:30 instead of Tuesday and evening class will move from Wednesday to Tuesday at 20-21 (also new time! – before it was 19-20).<\/p>\n

Nadine George workshop 2019<\/p>\n

\nThe annual Nadine George Voice Work workshop, taught by Nadine George, will be held this season during week 18 – Monday 29 April through Saturday 4 May 2019. The workshop is aimed at all performing artists, regardless of previous experience with this work.
\nThe workshop is an annual offer for performing artists, members and non-members. Nadine George’s technique is an integral part of our DNA at the Experiment Station and we offer members ongoing basic training in this work. There is voice training with Angelina Watson every Wednesday at 9-10:45 where you can keep up the technique. Read more about it here (https:\/\/www.forsoegsstationen.dk\/stemmetraening\/) .<\/p>\n

\nNOVEMBER
\nOn the brink of a crisis

\nThe experiment “On the brink of a crisis” is led by Christian Rossil – Department. It is a study of new approaches to the economy. Can and will we think about financial structures in a different way? The experiment will take place in November 2018 at the Experimental Station and will also have a residency in Aarhus in 2019. Playwright Kristian Husted is also involved. Consultants on the experiment are philosopher Kim Avlastanok and consultant Filip Hermann.<\/p>\n

A land where no dragons hide<\/p>\n

The experiment “A land where no dragons hide” is an investigation of a performance that challenges the private and the public, a quest to create new connections between performer and audience. The experiment is led by choreographer Sara Gebran.<\/p>\n

The spark of the Blue Sea

\nThe experiment “The Spark of the Blue Sea” is the first of 3 planned studies with the overall working title “The Alchemy of Training”. The studies can be seen as a direct extension of Jonas de Neergaard’s master project “A Performer’s Basic Training” and aim to gain a greater understanding and insight into the conditions and potentials of basic training. Furthermore, the experiment will aim to develop a poetic and inspiring language around the basic training and the associated temporal process, which could also be called the personal process.<\/p>\n

\nDANS DANS DANS is intended as a forum where independent dance artists meet, train and explore together. The experiment has been developed by Ellen Kilsgaard through several previous experimental works, with a curiosity about the development of community around her own practice as a dancer and choreographer.<\/p>\n

DECEMBER<\/p>\n

What is an experiment?
\n– creation of a working demonstration on practice-based artistic research.<\/p>\n

\nThe 18\/19 season experiment aims to develop a working demonstration that makes visible how limitations, physical constraints and obstructions can release and create new possibilities for the work and expression of actors and puppeteers. The working demonstration is an artistic and pedagogical form that emphasises communication and learning. The audience is drawn behind the stage curtain and into the creative space. The experiment is led by Lotte Faarup and \u00d8yvind Kirchhoff. Other actors are Rolf S\u00f8borg Hansen and Bjarne Kalh\u00f8j.
\nThe project is supported by the Danish Arts Foundation.<\/p>\n

“Teaching Each Other Lab”
\n– a study of non-hierarchical learning in the performing arts<\/p>\n

\nEveryone has experience that can be turned into material that can be developed into a performance or a show. The experimental team invites a wide range of people to take part in two days of labs, where participants explore and share with each other what they each ‘master’, based on the premise that everyone masters their own practice and has knowledge that can be shared and bring new perspectives to the group.<\/p>\n

The team behind the experiment is Jorge Tadeo Bald\u00e9on, interdisciplinary artist and creative producer from Lima, Peru, J\u00f6rn Burmester Wium, performance artist, curator and dramaturg from Berlin\/Copenhagen and Dorte Burmester Wium, creative producer Copenhagen\/Berlin. Participation in the lab is free of charge. 12 and 13 December 2018 at the Experimental Station from 10.00 – 16.00.

\nVoting training is available until Wednesday 19 December. Gaga will be on Christmas break from 17 December – which means the last GAGA class of 2018 at the Experimental Station will be on Wednesday 12 December from 7-8pm. Shakespeare Lab had its last session on Sunday 2 December. Stands&Dans has its last class on Monday 10 December.<\/p>\n
