April fools? – no!<\/span><\/p>\n

SOUND OF THE PUBLIC – gone viral…
\nWe start by ‘showing off’ a bit:
\nThe video we shared in the last newsletter has reached 6,500 people on Facebook and has been viewed by over 2,700 people! and on youtube it has been seen by almost 350 (it is the one linked to on our website and in the newsletter)<\/p>\n

              News from the main experiment “The sound of the audience”<\/span><\/p>\n

              Now the choir has had its first month – and we are growing in volume, expression and cohesion. Last time, several went to Absalon for dinner afterwards and it’s great to see the choir starting to come together. If there is still someone out there who needs that final push out the door, now is the time! It is still possible to join and the training is fun and guaranteed effective mastery. Write if you would like to join us. Rehearsals are on Fridays from 16:30-18:30. Write to \u00d8yvind Kirchhoff for more information or to register.<\/p>\n

              Thanks to Tuborgfondet and Vesterbro Local Committee!<\/strong>
              \nWe have received positive responses from several donors, and thank the Vesterbro Local Committee and the Tuborg Foundation for their contribution to this wonderful and crazy project. This means, among other things, that we are getting T-shirts made for the team and that there will be a go-card campaign to promote the work and ensure that as many people as possible come in and see what this project has turned into.<\/p>\n

              Intern on the team<\/strong>
              \nWe are about to land a corporate internship, with a wonderful person (name to come when fully in place) who will be attached to the project as co-coordinator and the choir’s go-to person. The person will be in the house from May 1st. We look forward to providing more information.<\/p>\n

              We are still looking for volunteers<\/strong>
              \nWe would like to gather good forces to get this project to a good end and would still like to have volunteers to help with various practical tasks related to the project. If you know someone or would be interested in being part of the team, please contact \u00d8yvind Kirchhoff to find out more.<\/p>\n

              Since last<\/span><\/p>\n

              Exchange seminar<\/strong><\/p>\n

              On Friday 31 March, Fors\u00f8gsstationen hosted the final day of a three-day exchange seminar between Theatre and Performance Studies (KU) and Dramaturgy (AU) organised by Annelis Kuhlmann, Laura Luise Schultz, Lotte Faarup and \u00d8yvind Kirchoff. Here the students were introduced to the work of the Experimental Station through workshops with two main current experiments “The Actor and the \u00dcbermarionette”, and “The Sound of the Publkum”.<\/p>\n

              We are grateful for the visit and the interest of a new generation of theatre scholars and dramaturges. Scrapbook photo taken after lunch. Thank you for a wonderful day and for the delicious soup, Lotte Faarup!<\/p>\n

              New date for Platform in June<\/strong>
              \nThe next platform – where participants in the member trials share process and insights with each other and other interested parties – will be on Thursday 15 June at 17-20 instead of the first announced Friday June 16. Those interested can sign up through Lotte Faarup.<\/p>\n

              Registration for open audition with Nadine George<\/strong>
              \nOpen rehearsal at Nadine George workshop:
              \nThe curious have the opportunity to attend an open rehearsal on the last day of the workshop, where a smaller audience can gain insight into the work. Nadine George’s work, and the significance of it for an entire performing arts education institution, is described in the publication “Growing Voices. Nadine George Technique: the evolution of its influence in training and performance” from 2013, edited by Professor Ros Steen Director of the Centre for Voice in Performance, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

              The texts are from the play “John Gabriel Borkman” (1896) by Ibsen. The second last play he wrote. The original version is available digitally through the National Library of Norway via this link. Here is an extract from a review of the first edition, written by Poul Levin, Politiken, 16 December 1896.<\/p>\n

              “Perhaps Ibsen has never before written a play in which his technical art stands so high. In John Gabriel Borkman, what was in olden days called the unity of time is observed as closely as is at all possible. The time in which the play “takes place” is exactly as long as that in which it is read or seen; there is no longer interval between the acts than the moment in which the page is turned, or the curtain of the theatre is let down and up.               The power of the lie<\/strong> <\/strong>
              \nIn March, TeaterRICH was in the engine room, where Maria Rich, Nicolai Dahl Hamilton and Rune David Grue explored the power of the lie:<\/p>\n

              “Through a concrete story, we have explored how the lie can create another reality – a new normality. Are curious about the fact that societal systems can be an amplifier of the lie and even legalize it. The truth can then suddenly become dangerous and a threat to the same system…”<\/p>\n

              APRIL
              \n“The core” – where is the limit?<\/strong>
              \n“In this experiment we explore the concept of ‘borders’. We will take our circus speciality – partner acrobatics – as a starting point and explore the boundaries we encounter here. The physical limitations we face, the fears we confront and how this can affect the audience and ourselves”.<\/p>\n

              The trial runs from 3 April to. 16 April 2017. The leaders of the experiment are Tuk & Sofie, professional new-circus artists specialized in partner acrobatics. In 2012 they graduated from the French circus school Le Lido, and have since been performing and teaching around Europe.<\/p>\n

              There will be an open viewing on Friday 14 April at 5pm – keep an eye on the website and facebook for details.<\/p>\n

              Cell<\/strong><\/p>\n

              Between 10 and 15 April 2017, Jullie Schmidt Andreasen and Tamara Erde will explore how physical states and visual expressions can illustrate the relationship between the inner and outer worlds. Oliver Sack’s work in general and more specifically his book ‘Hallucinations’ inspires both the visual and choreographic elements. In the process, we explore the contrasts between contact and sensing, versus isolation and numbness.<\/p>\n

              Residencies<\/span>
              \n TEATER TUGT – News on Betty<\/strong>
              \nThe people behind last year’s success ASYL 34 are on the warpath again with a new groundbreaking theatre concept. We think it’s a super exciting initiative and have given TEATER TUGT permission to work here at Fors\u00f8gsstationen on selected Sundays prior to their events.
              \n“The News at the Betty” is “a new theatrical format that breaks the boundaries of news reporting and challenges the conventional notion of the theatrical medium. Twice a month, Teater Tugt invites you into the foyer of the Betty Nansen Theatre for an evening of breaking news, presented by established and emerging artists across aesthetic genres – in a way you’ve certainly never seen before. The evening features 2 works of 20 min. each, both created in only 48 hours and dealing with a maximum 14 days old news, chosen by the artist, from a predetermined news medium” (excerpt from the Teater TUGT website).<\/p>\n

              Blixen project<\/strong>
              \nKenyan director George Mungai is in residency here at Fors\u00f8gsstationen in April, as part of a larger project that includes a documentary and a play about Karen Blixen through Kenyan eyes. It is produced in collaboration with the Karen Blixen Museum, Rungstedlund. He was most recently in Denmark as director of the show “The Merchant Of Copenhagen” which played at Baltoppen in 2016.

              \nThe weekly trainings are free for members and the schedule looks like this:

              \nWednesday 9-11: Voice training*<\/strong>
              \nThursday 9-10:30: Yoga (Note: last time 6 April)<\/strong>
              \nFriday 9-10:30: Mask work <\/strong>

              \nIn addition, Rikke Liljenberg offers ShakespeareSundayLab on selected Sundays 10:30-13:00. Next time is May 7, 2017. This training is also free for members, but is also open to non-members for a participation fee of DKK 100 per session.
              \nNote: There is no training during holidays – so there is no training during Easter – nor the days leading up to the holidays. Due to Nadine’s course this week, there is only yoga this week. It takes place in Camera instead of Boulevarden.<\/p>\n

              Renewal of membership<\/span><\/p>\n

              It is still possible to become a member for the rest of the 16\/17 season. And for members living outside Copenhagen, it costs only 350 DKK for a whole season.<\/p>\n
