On the last day we had an open rehearsal where several colleagues, friends and family watched Nadine working with the participants. It was very interesting to work with the dialogues in Ibsen’s universe, and to get acquainted with one of his very last plays “John Gabriel Borkmann” – it is highly recommended to take a closer look at this little masterpiece. Very modern and topical theme. One realisation we shared was how widely different layers and dimensions each ‘pair’ found through the work, and what depth it brings to the work to explore through ‘pure’ text power and voice vibration. It is the story of forbidden love, and how love that is not grasped can feel so despairing.

In an arena shaped like a circus ring, two actors transform the passionate love story into captivating drama with a few stage moves. Using only body and voice, with simple, precise movements and clear timing, they, along with the four fearless devils, will plunge into the sensual, feverish tale of life’s fragility – and the vulnerability of daring to love.

Crediting:
Karen-Lise Mynster (Director)
Mette Frank (Actress)
Petrine Agger (Actress)
Herman Bang (playwright)
Play period:
9 June 2017 – 11 June 2017 – all days at 16.00
Artist talk after the performance on 10 June.

Read more under CPH Stage programme – tickets are free but must be booked through scenen.dk.

New date for Platform in June
The next platform – where participants in the member trials share process and insights with each other and other interested parties – will be on Thursday 15 June at 17-20 instead of the first announced Friday June 16.
