    The aesthetics of death<\/strong><\/h1>\n

    between actor and puppet, between life and death<\/em><\/h2>\n
    \n

    “The ideal is not flesh and blood but rather the body in a trance state. The body must be clothed with a mortal beauty, while radiating its living spirit”.<\/strong><\/em>

    The Aesthetics of Death <\/a>is a 5-day knowledge-sharing seminar at the Experimental Station between 5 actors and 5 puppeteers in working with and examining the scenic expression of the actor and the puppet theatre and the fusion of both into a new scenic expression.<\/div>\n
    It is a study in which we push the limits of the theatre of the actor and the puppet, to explore the relationship between the biological and the artificial body, between the representation of the dead and the representation of the living. Research includes Tadeusz Kantor’s performances with actors and puppets on stage, where the inanimate puppets are experienced almost more vividly than the actors, who are mute with mechanical movements and empty eyes.<\/div>\n
    For the puppeteer, it’s about giving life and movement to the dead material – and the study asks the question: What does it mean for the actor’s expression to give “death” to the living body of flesh and blood? Read more about the trial here<\/a>.<\/div>\n
    The experiment has received support from the Danish Arts Foundation.

    The Olske Orchestra – ESCAPE revisited<\/h1>\n

    Cigar Bums Nose<\/h2>\n

    – A musical paper theatre experiment<\/p>\n

    WunderVerk v\/Anette Asp Christensen leads this experimental project, which works with musical paper theatre. The trial will run for 4 weeks between 26 September and 4 November 2016<\/strong>. Read more about the trial here<\/a> – and keep an eye on the website and facebook for announced views.
    \nThe performers are Birgitte Prins – performer, Daniel Norback – performer, Anette Asp Christensen – performer and puppet maker, Line Paulsen – director and Katrine Nilsen – set designer and puppet maker.<\/div>\n

    Experiment “The Race to Zero”<\/h2>\n

    – an artistic attempt on the financial markets<\/p>\n

    Kristian Husted has been working with the project “The Race to Zero” since 2014. The third and final trial period at the Experimental Station will run from 1 to 5 October 2016<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    The experiment is about the language used by experts – programmers and traders – about the financial transactions and infrastructures (the hft architecture itself). What happens if we try to spatialize these ideas and concepts – physically, bodily, spatially? It is thus an attempt to acquire a stage language about the financial markets.     The main experiment of the season, by \u00d8yvind Kirchhoff, is the second part of the experiment “the actor and the \u00dcbermarionette” – and has already been mentioned earlier in the newsletter – in connection with the knowledge sharing on 8 October.     Update on training for members<\/h1>\n

    Training is slowly starting again. We have new offers this autumn. As Feldenkrais and MB training are on a break, there is room for new initiatives. The MHS training<\/strong> on Monday mornings is now open to all interested, and there is mask work every Friday. On Tuesday and Thursday mornings it will be possible to go to Boulevarden and do your own morning training between k. 9 and 11.<\/p>\n

    Mask work (NEW)<\/h2>\n

    In connection with the main experiments of the Experimental Station “The Actor and the \u00dcbermarionette” and “The Aesthetics of Death”, free training in the mask work of Jacques Copeau and Etienne Decroux is offered from 16 September every Friday from 9-10:30 in the <\/strong>Boulevarden.
    \nYou are welcome regardless of previous experience with mask work.<\/div>\n

    “The mask frees us from our daily responsibilities and dissolves our perception of who we are. It is the mask that becomes our body, its movements, our mind and voice. The mask shifts the focus away from the ego that we all cling to and that limits our creativity and imagination. When we wear the mask, we let go of control and live in the moment.”<\/em><\/div>\n

    MHS training (NEW)<\/h2>\n
    MONDAYS at 8:00-11:00 <\/strong>the artistic direction is in charge of a weekly training, called MHS training.
    \nAs a novelty, we open to all interested<\/strong>.
    \nMeeting time is 7:50 – for joint introduction (NB: not possible to come late)<\/strong>.The training consists of three parts; 1) Zen inspired meditation for 20-30 min. 2) Masai-hop for 30-40 min. alternating between springing and jumping. Then 3 yoga-inspired stretches. 3) Voice training (Nadine George). It concludes with a short joint reflection. Total time for the voice work about 1 1\/2 hours.       New faces at the Experimental Station<\/h1>\n
      Livingstone’s Cabinet<\/a> has moved in, and we’re super excited about it. Nina Kareis<\/strong> and Pete Livingstone<\/strong> are not unfamiliar faces as they have often hired themselves out for productions and as members have contributed to several experiments, including most recently QUIET<\/a> – where they explored a performing introvert form of expression with set designer Julie Forchhammer.<\/div>\n
      They are now in full swing with The Einstein of Sex<\/a> which is going on tour, so I couldn’t get a current picture of the busy couple – and therefore had to go hunting… “Found” is from their critically acclaimed show “I Lie Down With a Crocodile”. Photo: Bjarne St\u00e6hr.<\/div>\n

      We also have a new cleaner in the house; Marzena Klingert <\/strong>has been headhunted to the Experimental Station via the Culture Office, which she also keeps clean and tidy.<\/div>\n
      We warmly welcome Marzena and are already enjoying the fruits of her thoroughness! Marzena is from Poland and prefers to be addressed in English, as she has some difficulty with Danish. She’s usually in the house on Mondays during normal ‘office hours’ – so we’ve got visible cleaning.
