Unique opportunity!
————————————————————

As already announced, this year’s workshop with internationally renowned voice teacher Nadine George will take place just after Pentecost, from Tuesday 22 May to Sunday 27 May 2018. We have two places available, as some of the people who originally signed up have gone to work that week. Take the opportunity to participate in this year’s workshop with Nadine George!
Read workshop details here (http://www.forsoegsstationen.dk/workshop/nadine-george-workshop-2018/) .

** IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE…
————————————————————
…about Nadine George’s work and its significance, we recommend reading the 2013 publication “Growing Voices” (http://www.voicestudiointernational.com/files/6114/2601/9234/Growing_Voices_online_version.pdf), edited by Professor Ros Steen Director of the Centre for Voice in Performance, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (https://www.rcs.ac.uk/courses/ba-acting/) . And if you are a member, you can get to know her technique at the weekly voice training (http://www.forsoegsstationen.dk/stemmetraening/) where Angelina Watson teaches the technique.

More information about the workshop will be available as we get closer – where you will also be able to register as an audience member for the open audition on 27 May.

If you have any questions or would like to register for the course, please write to rikke@forsoegsstationen.dk%20George%
This is the third year I have attended the workshop and I highly recommend it! Nadine’s technique is an organic way to tap into your core strength, which often gets blocked by tensions and habits we’ve picked up as people and performers. Text and character work take on new dimensions with this special technique.

————————————————————

On Friday 15 December we held the first platform of the 17/18 season (as announced in the previous newsletter). There were many attendees – and we got to share. A detailed report of the evening can be found here (http://www.forsoegsstationen.dk/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Referat-af-Platform-151217.pdf) . The presentation by our intern Anna Margrét Ásbjarnardóttir (https://www.facebook.com/anna.asbjarnardottir) , where she introduces us to the concept of “creative cloud”, can also be read by clicking on this link (http://www.forsoegsstationen.dk/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Oplæg-til-Platform-151217-Anna-Margret.pdf) .

Photo:Maja Nydal Eriksen

We have just said goodbye to the New Circus Company Cikaros & Teater Kimone who have had rehearsals, screenings and dress rehearsals of the show REVERSE (http://cikaros.dk/forestilling/omvendt/) here in recent weeks. A wonderful, fun and quirky show for 3-6 year olds – I had the pleasure of seeing a preview and highly recommend it! On and off: Signe Løve Anderskov and Henriette Aarup, director consultant: Jørgen Carlslund, choreographic consultant: Boaz Barkan, composer: Mika Forsling, set designer: Mona Møller Schmidt.

They premiered at Kulturhus Islands Brygge last Sunday and will play in Odense at Dynamo (http://dynamoworkspace.dk/kalender/) in early February. Tickets are still available on 3 February (https://billetto.dk/da/e/omvendt-billetter-250989) if you are lucky enough to be in Odense – 1. and 2 February is sold out.

Vesterbro Theatre Festival 2018

Once again this year, the Experimental Station opens its doors to visitors to the festival – big and small… This is the fourth year the festival is running. Kulturanstalten and Teater Zeppelin form the festival secretariat and took the initiative at the time. The aim is to offer free cultural experiences for the borough’s children, young people and families and to “create a strong network between the local cultural institutions in Vesterbro, which contributes to stronger cohesion between the institutions and strengthens their sense of belonging to the borough” (quote from the website (https://vesterbroteaterfestival.wordpress.com/om-festivalen/) ). We are delighted to be part of this wonderful initiative.

This year the programme here in the old cinema is as follows:

** “SUNDAY”
————————————————————
Photo: Rebecca Bentzen
Teater Patrasket plays the brand new performance “Sunday (http://patrasket.dk/da/denne-saeson/) ” on Saturday 10 March (They premiere the show here at the Experimental Station on Friday 9 March). The performance is based on Kim Fupz Aakeson’s book of the same title about the boy Torsten, and the crisis he goes through when he learns that his mother and father are having a new baby, because is there any love left for him? The performance is directed by Maria Myrgård and on stage are Tea Rønne and Dirck Backer as well as several puppets created by Katrine Karlsen. Rebecca Benzen was responsible for the set design. The show is aimed at 4-7 year olds and their adults.

** “BJOWULF”
————————————————————

And then on Friday 9 March, The Narrative Theatre will perform the award-winning show “Bjowulf (http://detfortællendeteater.dk/bjowulf) ” and hold a workshop in Story Play. “What would you do if a disgusting, smelly 500-pound moss troll ravaged your beautiful new hall? Come closer, sit in the hall and listen! Hear about the first royal depression, grand parties and a notorious Swede. Add a Viking ship, at least one deadly dangerous wrestling match and for good measure; a water jug?! Be prepared for adventure and set sail on this fast-paced, award-winning narrative journey.” (quote from website (http://detfortællendeteater.dk/bjowulf) )

Idea, staging, actors: Jesper la Cour
Troels Kirk Ejsing”
The performance is for children from 8 years.

** Breath
————————————————————
Photo: Tobia Tomasi
The experiment “BREATH” opened 2018 with Kirstine Lindemann leading a music-dramatic investigation of breath as a musical instrument and dramatic means of expression in weeks 1 and 2.
Can the breath make music? Can the gesture of breathing convey emotions and actions? – And what can that experience do to the viewer?
Read more about the trial here (http://www.forsoegsstationen.dk/forsoeg/breath/) .

** The Night (2)
————————————————————
The hello!earth group launched this project in 2015 and had its first trial round at the Experimental Station in April 2016. Project now back at the Experiment Station with sleep/dream research for weeks 4-6, 2018.
Read more about the trial here. (http://www.forsoegsstationen.dk/forsoeg/the-night-2/)

** Third Story Play attempt
————————————————————

The Danish Arts Foundation has given support to the Narrative Theatre’s 3rd Story Play experiment at Forsøgsstationen. The experiment will continue to investigate whether the Story Play model (http://storyplay.dk/det-fortaellende-teater/) is a meaningful starting point for developing stories with artistic potential in groups of children, young people, adults and older people. See documentation of 2 previous trials here (http://storyplay.dk/story-play-forsoeg-201516/) .

In the 3rd experiment we will exchange and develop our own stories and explore the artistic qualities of sharing simple stories outside the rehearsal room, in the public space. If we rehearse a story, where will it unfold? The trial is taking place over three periods, one of which ended in November 2017. The last two periods are in week 5 and week 8, 2018.

Read more about the trial here (http://www.forsoegsstationen.dk/forsoeg/tredje-story-play-forsoeg/) .

** Use the network!
————————————————————

We would like to encourage members to use this unique network (which many already do – not least via the facebook group “Forsøgsstationen intern” (https://www.facebook.com/groups/944010352410912/) ) – both in the form of invitations to screenings of trials or rehearsals, but of course also when it is time to play a performance.

Read more here (http://www.forsoegsstationen.dk/traening-saeson-1718-del-2/) .

** Training
————————————————————

As mentioned, there is weekly training for the members of the Experimental Station. It is also possible to participate as a guest for a small fee by prior arrangement. We have the weekly voice training in Nadine George’s technique with Angelina Watson – and for the next month Anja Owe is the guest teacher. In addition, there is mask work every Friday where Øyvind Kirchhoff is currently replaced by Bjarne Kalhøj.

We’re taking a break from the weekly GAGA training with Siri, but she’s holding two Saturday workshops over the spring. The first is on Saturday 17 March. It is possible to participate both as a member and as a guest. Read more about GAGAresearch here (http://www.forsoegsstationen.dk/gaga-research-2017/) .

Rikke Liljenberg’s Shakespeare Sunday Labs (http://www.forsoegsstationen.dk/shakespearesoendagslab/) will change a little in the future – it will still be open to everyone for the monthly Sunday lab, but in addition, work is being done on a meeting with the public in connection with Pontus Kjerrman’s exhibition “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the Gammelgaard Museum (http://www.gammelgaard.dk/kommende) . The next open laboratory is on Sunday 4 February. It is free for members and costs 100 DKK for guests.
